Ring-necked Pheasant (84789 bytes)

The race of Ring-necked Pheasants around Bosque del Apache in New Mexico has only a small ring of white on its neck, and is referred to as White-winged Pheasant.  These birds, native to China, are widespread in the U.S., and have found sanctuary in the wildlife refuge, where they were quite confiding.
