azalea3.jpg (80284 bytes) Some mountains have all the luck.  As if spring wildflowers weren't enough, the southern Appalachians in June boast a colorful display of rhododendrons and flame azaleas (which are actually Rhododendron calendulaceum).  Wild azaleas here are usually red or orange, but white or even deep pink forms can also be found.
